DURATION AS DATA
MOTTAKET
August 5–22 | Aggregat Kunstnerfellesskap, Mottaket Ålesund, Norway
Art Residency and Artist Talk, w/ Ronny Faber Dahl
.
During my residency at Aggregat Kunstnerfellesskap – Mottaket in Ålesund, I developed a headphone-based installation utilizing Bluetooth audio to craft a mobile, intimate listening environment. Combining sound, found objects, and sublimation prints on textiles, the project functioned as an adaptive sonic space. It transformed subtle temporal variations and acoustic residues into an immersive encounter, exploring duration as both data and embodied perception.
Shaped by the fluid and intimate framework of the residency, my process unfolded as a porous, adaptive form—reflecting on inflammation as both a somatic and environmental condition. The work examined how data-driven technologies intensify affect and vulnerability, manifesting as a slow-burning tension. Throughout the residency, sonic and digital visual elements merged into intentional surfaces: resonant membranes that explored the relationship between data and duration, alongside the interplay between human and other-than-human sensibilities.
duration as data, 3´43´´
immersive audio piece for headphone listening blending electronics and sci-fi spoken word, exploring the reconfiguration of technological matter within a landscape of forgotten networks. Weaving together samples and a data-log narrative voice, the soundscape unfolds through loops of electronic frequencies and deep sampling. The track’s dystopian atmosphere resonates like a data archive recovered from an abandoned, entropic terminal — a massive technological infrastructure that continues to process data, far beyond human presence.
